30 Days of Yoga

Bikram Yoga, of course.

Tomorrow, April 1st, I will begin a 30-day challenge - Bikram Yoga once a day, everyday, for 30 days.

Expect updates on my progress. I'm not sure what my expectations are after 30 days of yoga. I'm not really sure I have any. I just want to go in there & do it. I feel great WHILE doing it (98% of the time) and I feel great when I leave (100% of the time)! What more is there? I know I'm improving my health... and this yoga isn't just about becoming flexible, although I can assure you I am much more flexible even now after 3 months than when I first began.

Honestly, I probably shouldn't have eaten all those Girl Scout cookies so close to the 30-day challenge... I should have concentrated on getting the junk out of my body, not adding to it. Oh well.

Bikram Yoga, once a day, for 30 days! Oh, & I get a fancy t-shirt and water bottle to commemorate the challenge!

Namaste.

Decisions...

Yesterday my best flying friend, Billy, texted me with the latest "airline" rumor.  You have to understand... in the airline industry there is a rumor for EVERYTHING! Alaska Airlines is going to buy Hawaiian Airlines... Hawaiian Airlines is going to buy Alaska Airlines... what if Delta and Alaska merge? Then we'll all be force based to Atlanta...makes sense, we just started flying to Atlanta... they go on & on & on...

So when Billy texted me the latest rumor that those of us that took the Extended Leave of Absence last September (to last through March 2011) would be able to come back EARLY, I took it with a grain of salt. But I checked a few "sources" us flight attendants have, & there was some truth to it. But today, we got the email! They want to bring a number of flight attendants back in July & August!! This is usually unheard of! I took the leave, therefore I must fulfill the leave! I'm not supposed to go back to flying until next March. I am SO excited I could explode. I so want to pull back out my not-so-attractive navy blue poly-blend uniform to hang back up in my closet and wear it proudly! Questions is... what will life be like in July? I know, it's only July, but being that we've lived in 3 cities in the past 5 years and want to move out of Los Angeles sooner than later...

It's a lot to think about and right now, I'd say ABSOLUTELY I want to go back to flying early.  I miss flying, I miss my fellow super stews, I miss traveling, I miss the lifestyle. And that's just it, being a flight attendant is not a job - it's a lifestyle. Our original reason for us taking the leave was turned upside down last year. But we decided I should just take it. I needed a break. What if we wanted to get pregnant again? I will not fly (work) while I'm pregnant next time, but I believe that plan has been put way on the back burner indefinitely. So why not? Well, I've recently sent in my resume to a few companies around LA for various positions and was also recently hired to valet cars at events around town, but they seem to be a little on the unorganized side.  I'm not ruling the valeting gig out completely because that job is flexible & very part-time. But what if I get called to work full-time somewhere around town? You'll kill yourself with all the "what ifs!"

There's lots to think about... I have to let my company know if I want to start flying in July by the end of March. Yep, that's how far in advance they plan this stuff out. But where will life have lead us by then? Maybe nowhere...maybe somewhere else...I guess this is one of those times to completely trust in God's plan for us and have faith that things will work out exactly as they're supposed to.
