the paradise
First first first. I just finished season 1 of The Paradise, and I think I might watch it again. It was a random suggestion on Netflix and well done. I could not stop. After Christian would go to bed... "just one more episode..." You know how it goes when you get hooked on a show. It's produced by BBC, so you know it's good. I've heard it's comparable to Mr Selfridge, which at the recommendation of my mother-in-law will most likely be my next show to watch. Or House of Cards. Rob wants to watch that, and it's been on my list. Alright. The end.
Also...
I'm so excited that we're leaving for the Big Island today for a couple of nights. Christian is stoked, and is running around the house pulling his suitcase. Last night he kept asking, "can we go NOW?" I can't blame him, the resort IS magical. There's 3 towers, and you can walk, take a boat, or a tram between each of them. So we have a plane ride over, and then trains, and boats. A kids' dream.
Our family needs a little recharge after the past week. The past MONTH. I know I haven't shared much about our actual pregnancy, but from the very beginning there were enough issues to cause me lots of stress. Being pregnancy is always a very stressful time for me, and I'm ready to just relax with the two boys I love the most.
I'll be disconnecting for a few days. Crazy, right? I don't know how I'll live without instagramming and Facebooking my life. On the plus side, I'll be taking lots more pictures with our "nice" camera.
Have a wonderful week and catch you on the flip side!

aloha friday
Good morning!
It's a typical Friday morning around these parts. Christian is watching Cars (Fillmore: In reference to stoplight, "I'm telling you maaan, every third blink is slower..." Sarge: After contemplation, "the sixties weren't good to you, were they?" It really is a GREAT movie.), Rob is still gone from a very early surf sesh, and I'm being as lazy as humanly possible.
My follow-up with the doctor yesterday went well. He just sat and talked with us a little bit, said not to be discouraged. (How could I not be?) I'll go back in a month to check for any scarring from the surgery. I'm going to slowly start getting back into the swing of things - eating better, exercising more. As for the exercise, very minimal, but I am hoping to start going for walks around the park or neighborhood. Starting today.
Last night I bought a Fitbit One to track steps (aiming for 10,000 a day), and track how terribly I sleep. For the record, my terrible sleep has NOTHING to do with Christian. That boy sleeps like a rock through the night from 8pm-6:30am every single night without a peep, since he was about a year old. (Sleep training is your friend, trust me.) I need to sleep train myself.

You know who I blame? THE CAT. Moving on.
I have about 15lbs I'd like to lose, because emotional eating is my favorite thing to do. Ugh. And I'm hoping to rejoin Stroller Strides in the next week or two. I know that'll help the most. I'm also reading, "It Starts With Food," and plan to do the Whole 30 challenge starting May 1st.
Also, I'm hoping hoping hoping that next week, our little family of 3, will hop on a plane to the Big Island and spend a few nights there just relaxing and swimming, and being.
AND, we're starting to plan our trip to the east coast for the summer.
But I really have to say how grateful I am at all the messages, texts, phone calls, voicemails, and help with Christian we received this week. Trust me, we are feeling SO LOVED by all of you. So thank you, thank you, thank you! Words will never be able to express how much we appreciate each of you.
Have a wonderful weekend!
