happy aloha friday!

It seems I have officially lost my blogging mojo. I used to really love to take time and write in this little space. This has been an outlet for me for so many years! Since 2009! But lately, I don't know. I just don't have it in me. Hopefully (for my sake) it's just a phase, because truly, this has been Christian's only baby book of sorts. I am not a creative or crafty person, as much as I want to be. I do not craft. I just don't have the desire to sit down and create a baby book! I have a few free codes for some Shutterfly photo books, so I was hoping to use one of those to create a "Baby's First Year" creation of some sort. But let's see if I actually get around to that either.

However, since I'm feeling the pull to jot down a few things right now, I should run with it!

Last weekend we (and Brandi!) headed to San Jose to visit Rob's sister's family which is ALWAYS a blast. The kids had so much fun together!! I mean, they never really stopped. Never stopped running, never stopped giggling, never stopped talking, never stopped moving. I feel like I barely saw Christian! Ha! We landed Saturday night and settled in pretty late.

Sunday morning was nice. Lazy. Slow moving. Just what we needed before we headed to Happy Hollow, a very cool park in San Jose. Christian rode his very first roller coaster! He loved it.

Brandi took the afternoon to explore San Francisco. Rob and I made our obligatory stop at Trader Joes, where I bought Cookie Butter... that ended up getting confiscated by TSA. Because Cookie Butter is a liquid? Or a gel? Reminds me of this Saturday Night Live skit... because EXACTLY. I digress.

Monday was pretty low-key U N T I L KATY PERRY time!! Christen, Brandi, and I had tickets to see Katy Perry on her Prismatic World Tour on Monday night. WOW. That's all I can say. This was the most high energy performance I've ever seen - complete with moving floors, trap doors, several costume and set changes, and a flying Katy Perry. It was nothing short of amazing. I also really enjoyed Tegan and Sara as her opener. Might I suggest watching her documentary on Netflix? I watched it several months ago and it really made me love her even more! That Russell Brand. Jerk.

We were very sad to leave. It seemed like our time there just flew by. 

Being there, seeing the beautiful neighborhood they live in, it really made me want to buy a house, and have space and a yard for Christian. The American Dream, I suppose. Which is really hard to have here in Hawaii (California too, for that matter). We started looking at homes for sale on Kauai (north shore, Princeville area, our FAVORITE island), because it's much more "affordable" than Oahu. I got really excited at the idea that we could actually own a home. We'll see where that takes us... 

This weekend we plan to see the Blue Angels Wings Over the Pacific Air Show at Pearl Harbor. Very excited about that! I think Christian will love it and I've never been to an air show.
