Pop Physique is my latest health addiction, thanks to my fellow super stew, Kim, who got me hooked!
When I took my first class I didn't really know what to expect. There's only 3 studios in the world, and they're all located in Los Angeles. Since they just opened up a studio on the Westside, and I got an amazing Tipper deal, I just had to try it out. And I love it!
I admit, I did a little googling to find out what exactly this Pop Physique is all about because the website, doesn't give a whole lot away. I found this video:
Jennifer is the owner of Pop Physique... and her classes are AMAZING! I've been working out with weights for some time now... and at my first class when Kim told me to grab a set of 2lb and 3lb dumbbells, I was skeptical. Well I'll just say, I'm glad I didn't try to prove to anyone (myself included) that I could TOTALLY use heavier weights than that. These moves get down deep into the muscles, because my triceps, biceps, and shoulders were on FIRE! Yes, with 2 and 3 pound weights. Fire.
The class is an hour of upper body, lower body, and abs using a mix of weights, the Bar Method, and floor exercises. There's a lot of isometric moves mixed in too... the plank..."keep holding... now rock back and forth on your heels... hold it hold it hold it...!" Killer! We do a combination of everything!
However, I wouldn't use this instead of my cardio, but definitely with it. Don't get me wrong, you sweat. It's more of a circuit weight training and mixed in with cardio, like running or biking, I'm hoping my booty will be in Pop shape in no time!

Blogging from 35,000 feet!
Free wi-fi on the airplane ROCKS! (So does being friends with the flight attendant, which equals first class service even when slumming it in the main cabin. "Bailey's & coffee? Bloody Mary? Breakfast? Coffee in a big cup? Why, yes please!) Currently en route to Portland where we'll sit for a few hours before hopefully* heading to Denver!

Colorado!
Tomorrow we're leaving for our mini vacay to Frisco, Colorado. Frisco is little town located in Summit County that sits at 9,075 feet. And when I say little, the town itself is a whopping 1.7 square miles (thanks wikipedia!). Summit County is a hugely popular ski town...county....place. (I don't ski, can you tell?) I've snowboarded a little, but I wouldn't say it's my board sport of choice.
We went to Frisco back in March with friends when everything was covered in snow. Snowmobiling anyone? But tomorrow it'll be totally different - no snow in sight, sunshine with a high of 74. Our plan is to hike "a fourtneer" - that's the lingo used when referring to hiking a mountain with a peak of 14,000 feet. Granted we're starting at 9,000 feet, so you get the picture.
